SiiPet LitterLens Review 2026: Is This AI Litter Box Monitor Worth It?

If you've ever stared at your cat trying to figure out if they seem off today, or panicked at 11 pm Googling "how do I know if my cat has a UTI", this post is for you.
I'm the kind of cat mom who notices everything. But I'll be honest: there are things happening in the litter box that I simply can't monitor around the clock. And with two cats, one of whom was recently diagnosed with IBD, and the other who eats things he shouldn't.... keeping track of bathroom habits suddenly became a lot more important than it used to be.
When SiiPet reached out to collaborate on their LitterLens AI health monitor, I was genuinely curious. I don't promote anything I haven't personally used with my own pets first (that's a non-negotiable for me), so I asked to try it before committing to anything. Four months later, I'm still using it every day, and I have some real, honest things to say about it.

What Is the SiiPet LitterLens? (Quick Overview)
The SiiPet LitterLens is a small AI-powered camera and sensor that attaches to or sits near your cat's litter box. It uses computer vision and pattern recognition to monitor your cat's bathroom visits and track things like:
Frequency of litter box visits
Duration of each visit
Stool consistency and any visible irregularities
Trends over time compared to your cat's baseline
It connects to an app on your phone where you can see a log of all visits, review photos or clips, and receive push notifications when something falls outside your cat's normal range.
For a quick look at the product details, current price, and what’s included, you can view the SiiPet LitterLens listing on Amazon here.

Setup is straightforward; it took me maybe 10–15 minutes to get everything mounted and connected to the app. My cats sniffed it once when I first put it in and then completely ignored it. It's small and sits out of the way, so it doesn't take up any litter space or bother them at all.

Who Is the SiiPet LitterLens Actually For?
Multi-Cat Households
If you have more than one cat sharing a litter box situation, it can be really hard to know which cat is doing what in there. The LitterLens helps you track individual cats (it distinguishes by weight), so you actually know what's going on with each one.

Cat Parents with Senior or Health-Sensitive Cats
This is honestly where the LitterLens shines the most. If your cat has a chronic illness, is on medication, or is just getting older and needs closer monitoring, having a device that tracks bathroom patterns over time is genuinely valuable. More on this below with Olive's story.
Busy Pet Parents (and ADHD Cat Moms, Hi 👋)
Look... even if you're home a lot, you're not watching the litter box all day. The LitterLens monitors for you and sends you a notification when they use the litterbox and when something seems off, so you don't have to remember to pay attention. That kind of passive monitoring is a total game-changer when your brain already has a million tabs open!
If you fall into one of those categories, this is where I think the LitterLens makes the most sense. You can check it out on Amazon here.
My Honest Experience Using the LitterLens
I want to be really upfront here: I was a little skeptical going in. "AI for litter boxes" sounds like a gimmick. But four months later, here's what I actually experienced.
What I Love About the SiiPet LitterLens
It actually works, and it caught real things.
About a month in, I got a notification that Sprout's stool had been softer than usual and that I should monitor him. It included a photo. Was it the most fun notification I've ever received at the checkout of the grocery store? No. But was it useful? Absolutely! I was able to keep an eye on him over the next couple of days, and he was fine, but I appreciated knowing.

The bigger moment was with Olive. She was recently diagnosed with IBD and possibly low-grade lymphoma (they can look similar on ultrasound, but that's a whole other story). She was put on prednisolone, a steroid, which is known to cause increased thirst and urination in cats. Sure enough, the LitterLens flagged that Olive had been visiting the litter box more frequently than her usual baseline and sent me a notification to keep an eye on her.
Now, I already knew this was likely happening because of her medication. But the fact that the device caught it and flagged it unprompted? That impressed me. If I hadn't known she was on a medication with that side effect, that notification could have sent me to the vet at the right time.
This is the moment that made me understand why a monitor like this could be helpful. You can find the SiiPet LitterLens on Amazon here if you want to see how it works.
The app is simple and clean. No overwhelming dashboards, no confusing menus. I get my notifications, I can check the log, and I can pull up the visit history if I need it. That's all I want.

It's small and unobtrusive. Seriously, my cats do not care that it's there. Zero litter box boycotts, which if you're a cat parent you know is a very real concern any time you change something near the box.
What I Don't Love
The subscription model. Some features are locked behind a monthly subscription, and I'll be honest... I'm tired of everything being a subscription. I use the LitterLens without the subscription and it still works well for my purposes. The free version gives you the core monitoring and notifications, which is plenty for a healthy cat.
That said, if you have a sick cat, a senior pet, or a cat like Olive who needs close monitoring, the subscription features are probably worth it for the peace of mind alone. I can see the value, I just wish it wasn't gated! (What isn't these days though...)
Does the SiiPet LitterLens Actually Catch Anything Useful?
Yep! I just told you about two real examples above. Sprout's irregular stool and Olive's increased bathroom frequency were both flagged without me doing anything. That's the whole point of the device, and it delivered.
I also reviewed the PetSafe ScoopFree SmartSpin if you're in the market for a full automatic litter box upgrade alongside your health monitoring setup [check that review here →]

Frequently Asked Questions about the SiiPet LitterLens
Is the SiiPet LitterLens worth the price?
Yes. It's worth it for peace of mind. If you have a cat with health issues or just want to feel like you're staying on top of things without obsessing over the litter box, it earns its place.
Does it work with any litter box?
From my experience, it's compatible with standard open or closed litter boxes and most automatic litter boxes; it mounts into the box (or nearby, depending on your setup). I'd recommend checking the product listing for specifics if you have a top-entry specific/unique automatic litter box.
How accurate is the AI monitoring for the SiiPet LitterLens?
In my four months of use, I haven't had any wild false alarms. The two alerts I received were both legitimate and useful. Your results may vary depending on your cat's consistency and how well-established their baseline is (it needs a few weeks to learn what's "normal" for your cat).
Is the SiiPet LitterLens hard to set up?
No. Genuinely easy. If you can download an app and position a small camera, you're good to go.
Does it work with multiple cats?
Yes! It asks you to upload a photo of your cat when you first set it up, and not once has it ever incorrectly notified me of which cat was using the box, which is impressive!
Overall, I think the SiiPet LitterLens is worth looking into if you want extra peace of mind with your cat’s litter box habits. You can check the current Amazon price here.
