Google Search Console for SEO: Why Every Pet Creator Needs to Know About Platform Properties

If you have been following my how to become a pet influencer content, you know I use a number of platforms to help me with my full-time content creator job. Search Console has always felt like a behind-the-scenes tool built for website owners. That changed this month (July 2026) and I'm super excited about this new feature for social media content creators and influencers.

Google just introduced Google Search Console platform properties. This new property type lets you connect your Instagram, TikTok, X, or YouTube account directly to Search Console. You can finally see how your actual posts show up in Google Search, Google Discover, and now Google News too.
No website required. That is a big deal for every pet creator building a brand around social content that doesn't have a website up and running yet.
Using Google Search Console for SEO: What Are Platform Properties?
Google announced platform properties on July 7, 2026, on the Search Central Blog. At launch, the feature covered four platforms: Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube.
As of right now, Google confirmed that platform properties are now globally available to everyone. The rollout is done. You do not need to wait weeks for the option to show up anymore.
Google also expanded what platform properties track. It now includes Google News alongside Search and Discover. So your posts have three ways to be surfaced, and three ways for you to measure it.
A regular Search Console property tracks a domain you own. A platform property is different. You verify your social account instead of a website, and Google reports on your page the same way it has always reported on web pages.
Why This Actually Matters for Every Pet Creator
Pet content lives on search intent more than almost any other niche. People constantly Google things like:

If your Reels, TikToks, or YouTube videos already answer those exact questions, Google has probably been sending you traffic you never knew about. Platform properties finally show you the receipts.
For any pet creator building a brand from scratch, this is a shortcut. You do not need a full website to start learning what search terms are already working for you. Start with my How to Become a Pet Influencer on Instagram guide if you are still building your foundation, then layer this on top.
How to Set Up Your Platform Property
Setting up a Google Search Console platform property takes just a few minutes. Here is the process:
Open Google Search Console and sign in.
Click the property selector dropdown, then select "Add property."
Choose one of the four supported platforms: Instagram, TikTok, X, or YouTube.
Follow the prompts to authorize and verify your account.
A quick note: if you run more than one social account, each one needs its own platform property. Your Instagram and your TikTok are treated as two separate properties, even though they are both yours.
What You'll Actually See Inside
Every Google Search Console platform property gives you three reports.
Performance report. This shows total clicks, impressions, and average position for your posts. You can filter by individual post or by search query. This is your keyword research, generated straight from your existing content.
Insights report. A quick, high-level view of your top posts and how people are finding your account through Google. Good for a weekly check-in rather than a deep dive.
Achievements. This tracks click milestones over rolling 28-day periods. It is more of a progress marker than a true analytics tool, but it is still fun to watch climb.
How I Would Use This Data as a Pet Creator
Do not just glance at the numbers and move on. Here is where I would start.
Open the Queries tab first. This list shows exactly what people searched before landing on your content. Treat it as free keyword research.
Compare it to your blog content plan. If people are Googling something you have already covered on social but not on your blog, that is a fast blog post idea sitting right there.
Watch which platform pulls the most search traffic. If TikTok is quietly outperforming Instagram in Google Discover, that might shift where you focus your energy next quarter.
Cross-reference with your website's Search Console data. If a Reel is generating impressions for a query your blog is not ranking for, that is a real content gap worth closing.
One important limit: platform properties only show four platforms right now. Facebook is not included yet, which matters if Facebook is a bigger piece of your strategy. I talk about why Facebook still matters for Canadian creators in what it's really like being a pet influencer in Canada. If you are already repurposing content across platforms the way I outline in my Repurpose.io review, that habit only becomes more valuable now.
Platform Properties vs. Search Profiles
Google shipped two creator-focused tools in 2026, and coverage online keeps mixing them up.
Search profiles are public pages your audience can see. Think of them as the stage.
Platform properties are private analytics only you can see. Think of them as your backstage dashboard.
Setting one up does not mean you have set up the other. They solve two different problems.
The Bigger Picture: Google Search Console for SEO Just Got Bigger
This update is one more sign that the line between pet creator and SEO content creator keeps blurring. If you have been putting off the blog and website side of your brand because it felt separate from your social growth, Google just handed you proof that it was never really separate at all.
Search Engine Journal covered the original July launch as a meaningful expansion of what Search Console can measure, and today's global rollout plus Google News support makes it even more useful.
Go set up your platform property today. Start with the platform where you post most often, whether that is Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, and check back in a week once the data starts rolling in.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Do I need a website to use Google Search Console platform properties?
No. That is the whole point of this update. You verify your Instagram, TikTok, X, or YouTube account directly, and Google reports on your posts the same way it normally reports on web pages.
How do I become a pet influencer if I am just starting out?
Start by picking a clear angle, whether that is dogs, cats, or a specific home and pet niche like mine, then post consistently and track what actually resonates. My full guide on how to become a pet influencer walks through the early steps. Once you have some content live, tools like Google Search Console for SEO help you see what is already working.
Which platforms work with platform properties right now?
Instagram, TikTok, X, and YouTube. Facebook is not included yet. If Facebook is a bigger part of your strategy, keep watching for updates, since Google has already expanded this feature once since its July 7 launch.
How is this different from Instagram or TikTok's built-in analytics?
Your native app analytics show engagement on the platform itself: likes, saves, watch time. Platform properties show something totally different: how your posts perform in Google Search, Google Discover, and Google News. It is a second, separate audience most pet creators never think to measure.
Do dog and cat influencers need to think about SEO differently?
Not really. The search behavior is the same, people Google specific problems like litter box smells or leash training, so whether you are a dog influencer, a cat influencer, or both like me, the same Queries report inside your platform property will surface what your audience is actually searching for.
